The Team
Amanda Having escaped the Corporate tread-mill to launch the business, Amanda's loves sharing her enthusiasm for flowers with both the team and customers. She is the driving force behind the wedding business and loves designing perfect flowers to match any theme. Amanda has a bouncy passion for flowers and has been likened to a certain Tiggerish animal with a lively tail. Jane Jane joined the team in 2007 and has a keen attention to detail and a complete dedication to the task in hand, often calling on her days off to check that specific flowers have been ordered for her customers. She has an infectious enthusiasm for flowers and can produce beautiful designs in either traditional or contemporary styles. Jane is addicted to snow and chocolate buttons. Hannah Hannah is our youngest member of the team, and a talent to watch for the future. Hannah is currently studying for her NVQ qualifications at Hadlow College and had been working with us to augment her knowledge on a part-time basis...but with her work placement over, she has now joined the team. Hannah is the shop style guru, despite her worrying taste in boybands. Claire Claire is one of the longest serving members of the team..or is that the longest suffering member of the team. Claire came to floristry as a second career, like most of us, having previously followed a career in corporate travel. Her style is essentially contemporary and she has an eye for colour. When Claire is working, combining her skills in mimicking people and telling stories, it always results in it being a raucous day! Claire's mission in life is to protect others from the 'devils food' - chocolate. However, her most often used tactic is just to eat it herself. We are all so grateful for this sacrifice. Gromit Having joined Distinctly Floral in early 2007, Gromit is a core member of the team, with responsibilities including deliveries, meeting and greeting customers, tail-wagging and motivating the team. Gromit’s special interests include cuddly toys, doggie treats and long walks. Gromit loves meeting new people but her nose gets her into trouble, especially with hedgehogs and owls. Wallace Well every Gromit must have a Wallace, and he arrived in a blaze of spots just before Christmas 2009. Wallace is the first Dalmatian to join the team and you might notice some of his spots beginning to have a design influence on some of the designs we are creating. Wallace, after a rocky start, is now firm friends with his big little sis (Gromit) and busy days of floral inspiration are now often interrupted by a little bit of Wallace time. Wallace loves meeting new people and doggie friends - his view on life is 'everything is better after a nice snack and a chew on a cuddly toy'! |
